17th Amateur Inter-Club Team Championship

Welcome to the 17th AICC in Klosters

Cleeves

As President of the AICC, I want to thank James Palmer-Tomkinson and his Marden's team, in particular Caspar Rock (Club President) and Louis Tucker (Club Captain) for all their hard work in creating this 17th Championship. I am delighted that after 11 years the AICC has returned to this beautiful part of the Graübunden. Skiing in Klosters and Davos is always a joy, it's extensive ski area and the warm hospitality of not only the Marden's Club, but also the people of the Klosters/Davos ski region is so much appreciated. Off piste skiing in this region is superb and the specialists are PT Ski (a sponsor of the AICC as well!). It gives me pleasure to mention the AICC Vice President's business, as they have a superb reputation and I recommend that you book an off piste holiday with them at some point.

The goal of the AICC Championships is to further strengthen the warm relationships that exist between our ski racing clubs. In the early days of ski racing there was considerable contact between ski clubs, when members often visited each other's clubs to broaden their experience and make new friends. In the past few decades racing for amateur skiers has seen a great renaissance and the AICC has hopefully contributed to that.

The AICC is now mature. The format is settled, and I am delighted that the following Clubs are hosting the next three Championships: Ski Club Arlberg in 2026 (Lech), Sci Accademico Italiano in 2027 (Livigno) and Méribel Racing Ski Club in 2028 (Méribel)

I hope that this annual meeting of ski racing friends, both old and new will continue for many years to come and that the AICC helps to maintain this positive momentum.

Marden’s Ski Club is proud to host the 17th AICC in Klosters from March 20th-23rd, 2025

James Marden’s Club was formed in 1926 for the enjoyment of “skiing the mountains”, whether that be on piste, ski-racing or off piste. Originally known as Grisons Ski Club, after the Swiss region, the name was changed to Marden’s Club in 1929, in memory of Jock Marden, a prominent skier with the club, who died climbing in the Andes in 1928.

Still centred in Klosters, Marden’s remains a social ski club with a focus on amateur ski-racing and junior training.

Klosters has been the winter destination for the British royal family for over three decades and was previously affectionately known as "Hollywood on the Rocks" playing host to films stars and celebrities over the years who famously danced on the tables in the hotel bar of the legendary Hotel Chesa Grischuna and partied into the small hours at Casa Antica - both still very much social destinations today for visitors and locals alike.

Combined with Davos, there are five ski areas with 56 lifts serving 307 kms of well-prepared pistes making Klosters-Davos one of the largest ski areas in Switzerland.

On behalf of the Marden’s organising committee and as hosts of the 17th AICC, I am looking forward to a fantastic competition and enjoying skiing the mountains here in Klosters with you!
